About Me

Welcome to A Focused Home! I’m Maggie. I’m a stay at home mom of two beautiful children- a rambunctious boy and a sweet little girl- and we are enjoying life in the DC suburbs.  My life is a little chaotic, with a lawyer husband who works long hours and two small children who are full of energy and love, but I wouldn’t change a thing.

I had dreams of being a ‘Super-Mom.’  I always thought I’d be a natural, but much to my husband’s dismay,  cleaning, cooking, and organizing do not come easy to me.  But I love my kids and I love being at home and playing with them and I’m happy that I can do so.  It can get tiring, but I love every minute of the joyful chaos.

At the beginning of 2015, I was having a personal crisis.  My life was great, I was married to a great man and I had two beautiful and healthy kids, but I still felt like something was missing.  My son was in the ‘Terrible Threes’ stage and his behavior was starting to become an issue at home and in school.  Out of desperation for a solution, I reached out to a friend and she introduced me to essential oils.   I was immediately hooked!

About a month later, I suffered from a mini stroke, or a TIA.  Testing led us to  discover that I had a hole in my heart, and after suffering from a cluster of mini strokes, doctors decided to operate in order to repair it.

That was my wake up call.

I realized that I was not as healthy as I once thought I was.  I needed to put more emphasis on my own health and wellness, for myself and for my children.  So with the help of Young Living Essential Oils, vitamins, and other Young Living products,  I am firmly on my way to a full recovery.

I cannot wait to share with you the things I’ve learned throughout my experiences and the countless ways oils can help you in your life.  Thanks for joining me on my oily journey!
